Valley Agenda
The H2 Green Valley Agenda is a step forward to the future of the energy transition in Portugal. This is the country’s first green hydrogen (H2) hub, promoted by several key companies on the energy value chain. The H2 Green Valley Agenda develops a set of relevant projects to achieve a fully decarbonized energy system for the benefit of green economy and the sustainability of the planet.
Located in Sines, the H2 Green Valley Agenda foresees that the infrastructure and the related projects will be commissioned by the end of December 2025. The Agenda is critical for the decarbonization of Sines Industrial area, as well as for leveraging the decarbonization of all the energy system.
Project Timeline
- R&D for the optimization of the hydrogen injection and mixing process into the existing gas transmission network
- Construction of injection and mixture station prototypes: one fixed unit and one mobile unit
- Pilot project to convert 30 residential customers to H2 in Sines region
- Perform the needed adaptations of the gas distribution network for H2
- R&D of equipment for end customers

- Blending of hydrogen with natural gas in Transmission grid
- Green hydrogen safety and leak sensoring
